The hot tap on my bathtub (pillar tap) feels as though it is fully opening the but i have a reduced flow (about half of what you would normally get) What would be the likely cause and resolution please.

Thankyou in anticipation :)

Are you implying that its worse thatn it was when it was first fitted?

You will need to take the valve out and have a look as likely to be debris or a stuck washer or something

Also could be debris in the pipework leading up to it

Id take the valve out first and have a burchers there

Its the tap on my mother in laws bathtub, according to her its been getting gradually worse to the point you turn the tap and it turns enough that you think you should have full flow but you get about 1/2 the flow you would expect to get, certainly less than compared to the hot top on the wash basin next to the tub.

I will isolate the hotwater and investigate the main barrel as you have suggested :)
