went to a faulty boiler today.

hot water fires up with no problems though is luke warm. diaphragm leaking so deff suspect this to be the cause oif lukewarm water.
but there is no central heating and i'm stuck on this and scrathcing my head.
would a leaking diaphragm cause this. on the fascia it flashes as a safety thermostat fault so changed this and thermistors but problem still persists.
it's not the external controls as i tested these and have pretty much tested everything else.basically absolutely nothing happens when there is a demand for ch.

i'm new to the fault finding side of gas so still get get caught out by some of the more complex problems. but i'm thinking this is either the diaphagm leaking(water leaking out from point near microswitch not enabling the diverter valveto move). or it is the pcb board. i would have the tech support but they were closed. i wondered if anybody has other avenues to explore.

any help would be most appreciated

take the pcb out and dry it you may have water in there leaking from the diaprahm

thanks will try that when i go back , do you think the faulty diaphragm would cause the ch to not work? i always thought that if they go then the ch would be fine and just lukewarm hot water.

no if the diaprahm(larger of the 2) had failed it wont effect ch,but water in the pcb will it will cause all sorts of strange faults best nick the missus hair dryer and sort it out

fixed leaking diverter ,water on pcb board dried this off but still same. changed pcb now working fine.

gad its fixed jules,it is a excellent boiler and should give many years service IMHO
