Hi guys these boilers seem to popular today on the forum,I ve been working on one these today but I ve been scratching my head on how it eventually I got it to work ,I called at the week end there was no heating and hot water the light for faulty fan was on tried to reset but wouldn't have it,changed fan ,and had a board off a boiler which I new was ok,so changed that as well, got it back together fired up ,as I was lifting control panel up it stopped, and the 30 ,40 lights came on it reset a couple of times then nothing,I checked for loose connections it fired again as but as lifted panel up the 30,40 lights on ,I changed wiring harness ,still nothing, so thought right must be pcb ,bought new board and fitted, power back on same again 30,40 lights on as soon as I powered up.tried reset but still nothing.the fan would not run and no ignition sequence .now it's scratchy head time ,next I disconnected lead from gas valve tried a reset and this it cleared and started firing sequence obviously it did not fire so replaced lead to gas valve and tried again and it fired ! Can anyone give a reason for this to happen ! Cheers

Re: Basic 105e

I presume it's a Baxi, if so i also presume the answer would be they are strange pieces of gash

Re: Basic 105e

I think I'd have been scratching head too lilipop ... Usually 30&40 flashing together for me has been rectified with a new board! I remember a conversation I had once with Baxi, they mentioned holding the control in re-set for a period of time, can't remember what they said, 10-15 seconds maybe? Something to do with letting the board recognise reset? Also faulty/poor earth can mess with these babies, far as i remember :) Maybe gas man/others can add to this ... Not the job you want this time of year. Is it now up and running?

i would be carefully going through the pins on the multiplugs they can pull out, look like there in but not and cause spurious symptoms

Re: Basic 105e

Cool, i was just going on the amount of threads about them on here :)
the instants to be fair are pap but the normal 105e/he is a cracking boiler it was once the best selling combi in the country with 8 million units sold,it even went to the usa called the baxi luna

Re: Basic 105e

Yeah, it's the instant I'm dealing with :(
dont get water in the pcb and if you do anything on the dv or dhw flowswitch the rods need jamming down first in the dv or you will have a big flood

105 is the boiler of choice to put new starters on. Once they have middle led with a Mexico and a Bermuda let them on to 105, fit a diaphragm and a prv then send them in on a faulty pcb ( fan relay. ) and skitty aps. Hours of fun .

Gas valve may be residual voltage or the voltage spike caused by trying to ignite clearing board? On the ga if u get 133 or 168 pull off ignition lead , fire up and bang valve and she clears for. 24h

Thanks for replies ,yes boiler is up and running,I ll agree it is a good unit and I ve worked on them quite a lot ,I phoned tech when I said 30,40 lights on together I just got silence I presumed he was looking through his PC for answers after a long wait I asked the question again he said as diamond gas, hold reset for 30 secs release and reset for a further 4secs still nothing I said thanks for
"help"and hung up,will bare in mind pins next time but did double check all connections cheers gasman, just can't understand how disconnecting gas valve lead resetting then reconnecting can clear fault!anyway just like to share "funnies"with you all as the wife wasn't listening lol cheers lads

Cheers lilipop it's a workaround worth having in my tool box to try for when I next come across the issue! Also have a pal asking me the same question, 30&40 flashing, weirdly enough so I'll pass on the info! Cheers :)
