Apologies, I know this subject has come up before but I have failed to find a solution from searching the forums.
I have a baxi combi instant 80he which has developed a potential fault. On the DHW side when the preheat has run out the hot water drops to a luke warm temperature. The Flow rate is unaffected, however if the flow rate is reduced the temperature increases. From reading similar problems on here I decided to change the diverter valve, which did not solve the problem. in anticipation of some answers below is what I have considered so far:
1. Faulty temperature sensor - wouldn't this be indicated by a false temperature display on the boiler. I.e boiler shows hot water is 70degrees but actual temp at the tap is noticeably less. Are the temperature indicators on the boiler for DHW or central heating?
2. Heat exchanger is scaled - problem occurred overnight.
3. Boiler is undersized - problem occurred overnight.
4. Seasonal temperature swing and the boiler cannot heat the cold water quick enough in winter - although I notice a difference annually this winter has been significantly worse.
Is there anything else to consider?
