Hello all. Looking for some advice thanks. Above gas fire has a cracked burner with a hole that looks like it has been blown through. Checked burner pressure and it is a little under so not too much pressure. Maybe worn injectors? How do you check for worn injectors? is there a tool for measuring the width of the holes?

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Duncan

The injector size should be in the MI's but unless you have a selection of tiny drill bits or similar gauges it will be difficult to get an accurate reading on the bore of the injector.

Have you checked the gas rate of the burner to see if it is within the parameters of the burner pressure?

if the burner is cracked and a hole blown in it, bugger the injector, its not safe anyhow

Is that the kidney shape burner?
These are crap quality now a days and only last a few years if getting used regular before splitting. Keep a few in van.
Change the burner. Injectors probably be ok.

Yes, the kidney shaped one. Ordered new one today. Gas rate slightly under. Just a little worried as it looked explosive. However, the quality does look pretty rubbish. Thin.
Thanks to all who answered it is good to be able to get some feed back, it helps.

Thanks,
Duncan.

how much are they
Can pick them up for around £50. There are two variants of this burner that cover all the Baxi bermuda fires. Dont have the numbers to hand (can look them out if you need.) but there is a common one and a not so common one. I have one of each.

only ever changed one injector set,and that was because someone had tried to clean them before, they never fail, the burners though as graham m said are tat ad fail regularly if the fires used alot

got the burner for 29.50 plus VAT. Injector on bottom was blocked, so cleaned and put back on. All good with it gas rate etc. Thanks to all who helped me out.

Yes, gas fire is used all the time as no rad in front room.
