No hot water or Heating, diagnosed that the APS has failed but can see how the old one can
Be removed without serious work.

The APS fits to a mounting bracket but it is screwed in from the top of the bracket which is nearly touching the top of the case so no chance of getting to the heads.

I must be missing something as I am sure last time I removed one of these it took 2 mins.

Picking up new APS today so will return later for a better look.

It screws in from the top on those.
Two screws through top of case
There should be 200mm min clearance over boiler when installed.

The screws don't go into the top of the case but into a mounting plate which is welded to the case??

If it isn't the one with the screws in top plate then you'll need to remove the fan to get to the two screws you need

IMG_20161006_195959551.jpg taken from mine,it lives in a cupboard, cant remember if I serviced it this year,or was it last year, dunno, anyway remove this screw

Thanks for that lads, looked at it again today, yes you need to remove the fan, and then undo the one screw which removes the APS and the mounting plate.

cant you get the side panel off?

i usually take the front screw of the right hand side bottom, pull the case out and go in from there, throw the new one inside. 10min job :)

Well I put the APS in a couple of days ago, boiler started working until today when I got a call saying it stopped again.

The 30 and 50 lights are flashing as soon as you give the boiler a demand, the fan doesn't spin (no power to it), it works if you apply power.

The old APS had no continuality across Common and NC so never started, new one does.

It happens on both heating and hot water.

check venturies not melted,if it has look at the pcb,fan relay may have failed

If it was a blocked/melted venture I would have thought the fan would still start but it gets no power. I don't like replacing anything unless I can prove they are faulty.

Can the relay be replaced separately or is it a complete PCB?

full pcb if relay has gone fan wont start but looking at the venturie may give a clue as to its not well ,this assumes you have ruled out the flue and the flue runs in tolerance as fans get tired with age but as yours does not start i would be looking at the pcb with those fault neons
