hi everyone im new to posting on this forum but was just told by gas man to post my topic on here for some help instead so iv copied and pasted my question here as well hope you can help.
im a registered gas engineer but fairly new to diagnosing boiler problems and im having a problem with the above boiler basically its this:
the customer told me his DHW was being intermittent, basically getting hot then cold, hot then cold etc. iv checked the DHW plate exchanger and it doesnt appear to be blocked which is what i believed the problem would be so i checked on the CH as well.
when i turned it on the same problem happened, the boiler fired the lights all lit up to 80 degrees then it cut out, cooled for 30 secs to a minute then did the same sequence again. the pump seems to be running and iv had it off and the impellers seem to all be in decent enough nick and no blockage in the main pump housing.
now i thought it could be the main heat exchanger thats blocked but surely the DHW exchanger would block up before this one?
run out of ideas and would appreciate some input from you guys? any of you had this problem before or have an idea where i should be looking next?
cheers mike
