hi guys have got a problem with a baxi combi boiler last week the electric went off in the house. Got an electrician to sort it since then a problem has started with the baxi as when you turn hot tap on the boiler doesn't fire up so no hot water. If you turn central heating on and then the hot tap there is hot water when central heating goes off due to reaching room temp then again no hot water coming through tap. Combi was working fine before the electric problem just wondering if anyone had this problem before. Any ideas would be a great help.

What model is it,you could have had a power surge if power taken off due to a contractor going through cabling with his jcb
or
could just be coincidence like when I had the back of my van dented in two minutes after a council bin truck was reversing round corner a few weeks ago, apparently the loud crunching sound of two metals being mashed together, was coincidence as well,Not I or the driver know who did it even after discussing the issue at length as I handed him parts of his rear indicator light that I removed from being embedded in my back door...but i digress

Sounds like flow switch or divertor valve not operating,if it was caused by power cut will probably be hard to prove :(

reverse polarity at boiler.
get your sparky back to test what he has done,

thanks for advice sparky coming back to check let you know outcome

This poor little sparky
Probably done nothing wrong, just going about his business, fixing a socket here, mending a light fitting there, pops back to check what's going on and gets hit by a wall of abuse about how he's reversing polarity and frying pcb boards!!!

I would feel sorry for him ,if he was'nt a lecy :D

dont feel sorry for sparkys, puddle they dont care when they get in before you on a first fix and put cables in the way were we would want to put pipes:D
