These things are murder! I service around 20 or so of them a year on a holiday park in Cornwall after advising the owners to stop fitting them over 2 years ago! As you're all too probably aware Baxi had to come out within 6 to update all the software and change the gas valves on them as they were locking out. Now their 1st & 2nd services are due more headaches! I don't know about you's but when I leave a boiler after a service I want everything tiptop including my combustion readings. Well with these it's almost impossible by following manufactures instructions on how to set the mix using the interface. Generally find high and low fan settings I can get spot on but middle all over the show! Not sure if it's because it's LPG or the software on these is hopeless! Anyway cut a long story short I've got Baxi's senior engineer number, gave him a calll and he emailed me over their recalibration instructions and how the mix can be adjusted using wider parameters than those available in the service instructions, takes a bit longer but can now get it spot on!
Not sure how to post it onto here but if anyone needs's a copy let me know and I can email over...
Duo Tec HE
Anyone had an issue putting these into service mode and boiler cycling? I thought it should alternate between heating and hot water through diverter to stop this but with hot taps and rad valves all open it cuts out, rads only luke warm some cold and cold water at the hot?

Yesterday was a long day!

I have had the exact same issue a couple of times with it cutting out prematurely

Put about 10 in, absolute piles of rubbish, each one has had a minimum of 2 call outs, gas valves and software updates, tell me about it.

Worcester for LPG every time

Funny you should suggest Worcester and LPG, I know their not everyone's cup of tea but they used to fit the 30 SI's which I also service & gas cert...apart from the odd AAV weeping they're good as gold, fully serviced (including the cell) and certified in an hour, these things nearer 2 hours if the CO readings are sky high which they generally are!

Yes, I went on the Baxi training course and they said most of the issues with these GA boilers is that they were never correctly calibrated when they were fitted. Pit them through calibration and they should work much better most of the time.

The he won't dump heat through the DHW on service function, but all you need to do is remove the clip holding the actuator in place and you can then use the hot water to dump the heat.

I dont personally fit them but do all the commissioning on this particular site. Always follow the procedure set out in Baxi's manufactures service instructions, purge, set gas type etc. GA's clearly were not tested thoroughly before released onto the open market. Having to replace gas valve and update software on a 6 month old boiler? Off to their Exeter training day on the 30th...can't wait!

Thanks will give that a try Saturday when next in site. Is there a reason why certain combi's won't dump the heat through both ch & hw?

Just manufacturers doing different things. Baxi only introduced the DHW heat dump in service mode on the GA range.

The gas valve was an issue with the type of rubber used as the seal. Baxi had to replace certain ones because the gas valve manufacturer used an incorrect grade of rubber.

Some of the software updates weren't necessary to the running of the boiler. One of the updates was so that during the commission process the temperature is displayed on and off.
