hi guys. got call to above boiler today for routine service. as soon as started to analyse it the readings were off the scale was going up to 5000 pm before removing my analyser. i checked for flue integrity and was getting over 600 pm. gas inlet pressure at full rate was 19mbar. its a vertical flue so got on loft and realised all joints are very easy to move from sockets so i was thinking full flue replacement. anything else that you guys would be looking at as well as flue?

Adjusting the co/co2 ratio. Had something similar with worcester so called their tech support on how to reset gas valve to factory settings and then had to just tweak it a little to get it where I needed it to be. Give Baxi tech a call

And where you check for flue integrity was that in the clean air part of the flue the 600ppm reading? Could be seals have cracked or split?

also when took cover off wasnt getting any ppm at air intake, but still extremely high on emissions test point.

My bad as read your post too quick. Sounds like you are right with your suggestion of replacing the flue run. Should the joints not be screwed in place to stop them moving though?

no screws in them, i think thats the problem with a lot of these flues relying on rubber seals only. i always put a couple of self tappers into any joints, but i suppose if the rubber perishes no amount of screws will help.

also im trying to find the part number for the rubber washer that sits in the boiler adapter to make the seal at boiler termination if anyone knows it would be fantastic.

i started too but as soon as getting the emissions on the air intake i was thinking flue problems. like i said was getting 19mbar at gas valve the seals on burner chamber all looked ok as well.

Have you had the burner apart ? and checked inside

no will do tomorrow. it was just because of emissions on air intake side that got me thinking flue seals. if burner problems would i be getting very high ppm on the air intake side?
thanks for all input by the way guys much appreciated i will take any advice on board.

oops missed the inlet 600ppm so as you say, seals gone, quite common they were damaged when first slipped together!!

You can't get the seals on there own, new complete flue. £50 a length approximately.

Check seal on top of heat ex first, you can get that one separately. Don,t start messing with gas valve setting until readings are clear at air intake test point. Its not uncommon for the gas valve to be adjusted if the readings are a bit out when the seals first start to go (when the air intake has not been checked).
