Went to service one of these yesterday 40 kw combi boiler was year old ,
Turned the hot water on in the bathroom and noticed the flow was quite low but water maintained heat. Went to the boiler and noticed the flame was cutting in and out on hot water demand.

Further inspection the property had flow restrictors fitted everywhere.

Is this what happens to combis when they are fitted??

probably restricted to much but that's combis for ya

Tell customer to take the restrictors out. Waste of space!
In general combis require 3 l/min to operate properly. The duo-tec should be ok down to 2.5 l/min.
Lets save water but have the boiler cycling on and of constantly everytime run hot water.
What about the extra gas consumption and wear on boiler as it cuts in and out?

just change the flow restrictor to a higher ltr per min

Bristan do a few for taps and shower hoses which are pretty good.
