Been to a job this morning system loosing pressure so I first check the expansion vessel, and water came out of the schrader valve hence it needs replacing (pig to get to as there is no room above)

Anyways my point is the boiler is maybe only 2 years old (I never installed it) I rang baxi for the warranty and same as you find al lot nowadays its never been registered so no warranty.

I don`t fit these boilers and there is not many around my way so I have no real knowlegde of how reliable they are but 2 years for an expansion vessel seems pretty rubbish to me.

Even an Ideal Isar would last longer

Any pointers as to how many expansion vessels you chaps have replaced on these boilers ?

ps. £56.00 + vat seems very cheap for a replacement! maybe they make them in china

Thought they still covered the boiler even if not registered, can tell age by serial number as well

Would of thought a faulty expansion vessel after twoyears would come under the' 'not manufactured to the standards required for its use'' blurb, unless put on a dirty system

imho

never replaced one on a duotec, not normally a weak part,if not registered then maybe system not descaled?what do you mean the Schroeders hard to get to?just buy a angled adapter made by regin available from parts center

I was waiting for the gas man as I know your a baxi man, But yeh I have various pressure guages and thought it was easier to remove it (which was very easy) to test rather than stuggle.
It was your input I wanted cause I have only worked on a few of these and I thought these were a good reliable boiler .
Eitherway easy to work on and customer is happy
