when you call for heat either dhw or ch ,it takes a while and then the boiler explodes into action with flash of yellow engulfing the entire bottom of boiler,seals and ventilation seem fine flame picture,yellow flames any ideas, boiler recently serviced not by me.

What condition is the flue in? Very worrying mate. Does it just ignite like that and then return to a clean flame?

it ignites wtth a loud bang and flame picture remains poor

Time to strip it down and investigate mate and I certainly wouldn't be leaving it connected in the meantime.

I'd cut and cap if your leaving it in this case. Look for faults with the flue if the seals and vents are sweet. Also maybe look at gas valve passing if it ignites with a Big Bang. Could be a few things to be honest but id start there mate
