Can someone tell me why the need for a thermostatic mixer?

Whats so bad about having the inlet water above 30'c?
 
43 max so grannies and babies dont peel when you drop them in the bath, not compulsary in homes yet tho is it
 
Some boilers may not be able to modulate down low enough if the incoming water is above 30 and may overheat.
 
oops reread thread, thought we were on normal mixer valves, apologies
