Cleans out debris from the condense trap on these early boilers they were a plastic unit as below, aluminium heat exchangers suffer from tiny particals of aluminium dissolved by the slightly acidic condense which build up over time and block the trap then the boiler fails .

Yeah. Had a customer who had the issue and it never did it whilst I was there. Took a bit of finding to get to the bottom of it - although I know now when someone says it's making a terrible noise it's the gas valve 😂

Vaillant GreenIQs are the worst for killing your FGA 🙄

There the ones that have the sensor that adjusts the mix isn’t it ?
 
Yeah, the sensors go knackered so they don't adjust right and pump out >2000ppm. Lethal, Vaillant have got an issue on their hands with that boiler.

:D makes you think how many flues are low level and potential if you walk past them something might happen
