problem with a baxi ive been called out to....

solo 3

fan runs intermitantly, runs fine fan light comes on, cuts out for 1 sec, starts for 1 sec and continues this cycle - ignition cycle not starting due to the aps not kicking in.....

thoughts are the board, but baxi technical say its the fan? doesnt seem like a fan fault to me...

anyone with similar experiences

Usually pcb, if it is the fan, you'd get 240v constantly even if it's oscilating, worth checking the aps aswell

Have you checked continuity through APS? Sounds like the fan is starting up APS is switching but may not be being recognised?

Sounds like APS to me, investigate that first.

is sounding like aps or fan but check the plastic electrical connections they go brittle with age also check the venturies for damage or dirt

Little tip, When you get this fault wack the plastic case that houses the PCB, If it is a dry joint chances are the boiler will fire up....I Did`nt tell you that right.

Ok will try - fan isn't staying on long enough to trigger aps. But will look into it. Will check connections, if the live to fan is pulsing will it be the board at fault?

I tend to make the switch manually and check the resistance through it. Should be near as damn it 0 ohms! When i say manually I mean blow/suck depending on which tube you get your lips around!!! worth checking normaly closed as well as open switch circuits to be sure it's operating okay!
