If you don't trust the guy get someone else in to repair the boiler. It will have to be someone gas safe registered though. If it is the fan and you get it yourself you will be responsible for the warranty on it and have to pay for someone to come out and look at it/change it if it fails. If your installer buys the part he/she will be responsible for the warranty which is why installers add a percentage onto parts to allow for any warranty call backs. We get the part replaced free but no allowance for our labour.
