Had a gas safe cert to do today with a baxi solo 3 PFL, and I've been bemused.

How does the FFD work in these boilers? When I isolated the gas, the boiler just kept on trying to re-light, permanently and indefinitely, while theres demand. Never went to lockout. I rang baxi tech but tbh the guy on the phone sounded clueless and suggested the PCB may be faulty, after suggesting that "some of them don't lock out".

Any ideas on the sequence it should follow? Don't want to start chucking parts at it until I know the crack. M.I.s dont have any info regarding FFD in them, nor the reset procedure after flame failure. Rubbish.

they do just keep trying to relight,it does not lock out from memory

Thank god. Question then (memory is shot), how is this legal?

P.s. I thought you'd be the first to answer gas man, had my fingers crossed lol

it has no pilot light so no issues there the ideal classic is the same set up,the pcb may kill power to the gas valve

Does nothing for your faith in the help provided by tech support, if the cannot tell you the basics like there is no resettable lock out on these boilers.
As the g man mentioned, they will continuously try to ignite but no gas should be passing.

No gas was passing so all good. It winds me up that I spent 40 mins on hold to speak to someone who was not only, not helpful, but also made me doubt myself!

Trying to speak to anyone at baxi is a joke, last time I called them I was on hold for over half an hour listening to michael buble which was like torture.

It was the best of the rat pack today lol

So in order to test these valves your just looking for the burner pressure to drop to zero when power is taken away from the valve?
