Hi i just finished city and guilds level 2. and am in a pickle whether to do level 3. could someone tell me if i need to do level 3 to go on to the gas?? i dont really want to go another year with no job, would rather try for and get an nvq. thnx

you can do your acs now no probs. If you have the oppurtunity to do level 3 on apprentiship then do so, one day a week kind of set up. it gives you your advanced craft on your jib card if you go on site. which means more money. even though you can be pretty much fully quallified with level 2 and all your acs. you can also do your un-vented seperatly without doing level 3. but like i say good to have. id do it.

its out in september, providing that there is a college equipped to deliver it. i myself am going to do the new one. looks very good. and the qualls for all the renewables will be reconognised everywhere. some of these day courses for solar etc are not recognised everywhere. even though you can still legally install with them. funny, i know??! its an awkward time as there is no funding anymore for the old course, and there is for the new even though its not out yet.

finally its a course thats upto date with the industry, renewables and alike.

if you can afford it then yes do your level 3, may get you a better job/wage in your future.

they will never have a course thats up to date! to many busy bodies getting paid to change and sometimes improve the rules.

The easiest way way is to slip a bit of One Shot in the HSC's baby oil so the next time their lathering up each others naked sun-starved bodies in their little broom cupboard they might come out and see the light of day.

Where would we be if we had too many rules?
And where would we be if we had too little rules?

hopefully at the manchester college because i used to teach there. with funding its probably going to be between 700 and 1000 nicker. not hundred percent sure though yet. every college is going to have to spend a lot on materials to deliver it.
