Been asked to quote to replace these gate valves!

Hi,

Looking for advice on how to tackle replacing these 28mm gate valves off LLH. Spoke to Hire It (BSS) they have Freezemaster machine but heads are 100mm so not going to fit stubs of pipe close to LLH. Is there a different machine out there with with smaller head e.g. REMS, Rothenberger, Rigid ??

Any advice appreciated.

P.S. I've not been to the site yet - only have photos.

drain down sorry to say and replace the lot you could freeze each of the pipes bottom of the gate valves and just drain the header eg one machine per two valves etc

I think you'll struggle to freeze just the stubs even with a 100mm collar, the water in the header is going to soak up the cooling.

As Shaun, it's drain down.

Simple answer - Quote: You can never quote to high, but you can quote too cheap.
You will own the repair after you have done it, so allow for that

Minimum 1 days labour, bit I would allow for 2 for a second visit to re-bleed radiators after draining down
