Can anyone suggest a good drill for core bits that doesn't weigh a ton and can handle up to 6" cores. I have had a couple of different ones now. The old Titan cheap but very heavy is still going, but my marcarist bit the dust not even a year old and faulty. Taken back to suppliers.

Hilti

I’d also be interested in what people recommend. The marcrist ddm 2 that a lot recommend seems hard to find now?

I’ve borrowed my mates metabo a few times and that seems to get the job done.

What model hilti do you use? And what are they like for price ? (Sorry for hijacking) was about to create a thread asking the exact Same question!

Really for 6" you should be rig mounted as it's not the best D150u if you want to look on hiltis website

Macrist top machine ... specialised in core drilling. But would recommend Bosch too.
Hilti top brand and Product but too expensive

the ddm 2 design is now (I think) made by 'sparky', or it's a fairly reasonable copy anyway....s'bloody heavy though. And I think a 150mm bit would actually spin you u around if it jammed....

I'm using an Eibenstock EHD 2000s. Only have it a couple months but it makes coring almost a pleasure. Will only core up to 132mm and it's not the lightest core drill out there. The EHD 1801 can can go to 250mm.
