hi, after last nights news that my showers goosed, what do you guys think are the better 8.5kw showers. had a cheep triton shower, but only lasted 2 1/2 -3 years.

thanks

Hard to know. Showers different models keep being introduced. I used to find Redring extremely reliable showers, but some of the later models have given trouble with phased shut down pcb & also leaking when new.
Take a look at Mira Jump. Very basic shower inside, although rail kit is a bit poor IMO. Other more expensive Miras are not worth it.

I've had several customers speak highly of the bristan range, the joy and the glee. Mira sport is ace but is v expensive

I'm a fan of Aqualisa's, admittedly they are expensive but I think they're worth it. Aqualisa's tech support and customer service is top notch too.

Aqualisas ordinary mains fed electric showers are very poor though, IMO.
They are Gainsborough basically. Says it all.

it depends on usage..but to me an electric shower is not something you expect to keep a long time..3 or 4 years throw away and replace, you can get a standard decent one for under £120...works out with fitting ,just over £50 a year..have fitted an aqualisa ,just paying for name...from days gone by...

I fit lots of Mira jumps every week and for the price of an 8.5kw £95 plus vat superb shower never any issues

Yea, - that's what I thought of it. I don't particularly like Mira electric showers as they are overpriced and quite a lot of faults. But the Mira Jump is a very basic made unit inside, so no silly potentionally troublesome parts and it is very cheap. Screwfix good deal
