Bi-sexual shower door.

Bi-fold, sorry. I've not fitted one before.

Looks pretty straight forward as it looks like it just arrives in 3 pieces, two wall channels and a pre-assembled door.

Three questions:

1) How do you get the door into the two wall channels once they've been screwed to the wall?
Is there just sufficient depth in the channels that you can slide one side all the way in and then the other side can fit in and then you center it between then? Simple as that?

2) The one I want to replace I measured at 842mm width. This one says it can do 840mm - 870mm width. Am I being risky with it being this close and should I search round until I find something like 820-860mm or something? Didn't spot any where 842mm was in the middle of the tolerances.

3) Is the one I've selected likely to be tat that falls to pieces within a couple of years and I should really be looking at ones three times the price or saying I'm not interested or are the odds that it'll last a reasonable while if not abused, with a bit of luck?

Fit one Channel to the wall put the other channel on the door / screen loose and slide the lot in

Your fine normally can cut the tongs if too tight on the screen

What you do behind closed (shower) doors is up to you and nobody’s business.

I haven’t looked at your link yet, but check the wall profiles as some of them go against the door, rather than completely go around the door and you drill through, if you know what I mean?

I haven’t looked at your link yet, but check the wall profiles as some of them goagainst the door, rather than completely go around the door and you drill through, if you know what I mean?

For fitting into a recess as the image shown, the profile will have a 'lip' through which you drill to fix. The swine is getting silicone behind the U and not spreading it all over the wall as you install. Have fun

I prefer bi-fold doors because they drip into the tray when open, rather than on the floor like pivot doors

I'm sure I'm being thick but how would you fix the second chanel to the wall if you've slid it onto the door first?

I get the drilling through to fix bit, like on a screen that goes on side of bath, done a few of those. By lip do you mean one of the projecting vertical ends of the profile/channel will be longer than the other so you can sort of push it in?

No. Its like an F on its side. You drill through the lower leg.

That must depend on the quality of the door. You can't surely ban a concept because most are **** at making them!

That's why I fitted the Novellini for so many older folk. You can pull the door out as well as push 'em in so never any problems whatsoever.
