We have one of these which is 8 years old. Over the pst 4 years the gas valve,diaphram,ignition, has been changed. Also the thermostat has been changed. I have had to open the heat exchanger 3 times over the past 18 months to clean it. The problem i have is it wont fire up. I can see the electric spark. But no buff for the gas. If on the other hand it does buff and light up. it will only stay like that for 40 secs and then die and the light on the control panel comes on. Try this a couple of times and the light remains solid. What could be causing it ? Also is there anything that would clean the heat exchanger once and for all as every time i have cleaned it black stuff has come out of it.
