been out to one of these today, totally dead apart from power to the motor on the dv,does all my tests thermister ok high limit ok not reversed polarity fast fuses ok,no LWP just a diapragm microswitch that checks out ok move on to the pcb power going in getting to the dv motor not going anywhere else i conclude the main pcb is shot i ring biasi 01922714636 as i want my diagnosis backed up they confirm the pump should get 240 for 5 seconds its not getting any power, theres a burning smell on the pcb and the fault codes saying it shot, now what surprised me is i got through quickly to biasi, got through to some guy from brum who was really helpful,i was ringing a landline so no o800 guff and this boilers not that badly built its a band b,has mainly generic parts and a stainless recouperater ,so rings my supplier for a price £247 all in for a main board no thanks i said jumps on the net 3 suppliers want £117 plus vat much better as with everything these days you just have to shop around my normal supplier can beat most on pcb prices not this time though and a tip a main board for that horrid tat called the heatline viso most want £200+ for a main pcb on that abkot sell the same original part for £89 + you just got to shop around

I got two different prices from two different blokes at the ripoff merchants Wolseley today for the exact same part! i think they make up the discount they want to knock off depending on how they're feeling on the day!!!

Abcott are a real good supplier and deliver straight to the custard too!

is it the biasi or the heapline pcb?

Soz mate I didn't make myself that clear ... not the same part as you were on about ... lol ... I priced a fan for an Ideal FF350 ... got a price over the phone, told the custard then went, picked it up and was charged a tenner more by a different bloke!!! :63:

thats why i dont deal with wolseley or hrpc or what ever they call themselves to Muppet like and un professional,i would not trust them to order smoke bombs correctly

I beg to differ on that. I get a great service from them. And now you have a new manager down in bridges called Chris lyle. And he knows his stuff. Have you given him a try yet. He's made my dad change his mind about hrpc bridgend

I use them for convenience to be honest. They're one of the larger stockists up here so the parts are off the shelf so same day service is possible! With the internet though i now offer the custard an alternative that will be cheaper but they'll have to wait longer!! Most still opt for rip-off *shrug*

I get real good service from a lot of the guys up here too Simon and there are a good few who know their stuff and go the extra mile to help. Can't fault them for service ... But for me they aren't consistent! get the wrong guy and your charged full whack! They're a business with targets end of the day and i some times wonder if there on some kind of incentive or bonus for the profit they generate? That'll be the cynical side of me generated from 25yrs working for BG I guess :)

I use my local Plumb center as I get a good discount from the manager, but for some parts I give them the chance to quote but usually get it online if I'm not in a hurry for it. The problem I have with them is that the parts dept is separate and the parts guy thinks he can charge what he wants. He obviously is unaware of t'internet.

I sometimes use Gas Appliance Spares (Preston) Ltd They can usually beat anyone I deal with.
