Spudhater

Fitted a 30CDI today i forgot what a pain in the arsenal they are compared with Vaillants..

I have four cuts on my hands from all the sharp bits, poxy Jig, condensate and even the electrics are a pain.

Not my choice of boiler, customer was Adam Ant that is what he wanted, 5 rads of it and a shower!!!! Idjet..

First thing he said was "it`s a bit big" Doh!
I suggested a Remaha to fit in the cupboard... why do they not listen to your advice...

As i knew he was "one " of them customers i am glad i over priced the job in the first place..

And to top it off No Bickies

You honestly prefer Vaillants to Bosch?

If I had my way I wouldn't touch a Vaillant with a stick that's been up a dogs bum! Never had one that's worked straight out the box.

or I could be just dead unlucky! lol😱

I find that hard to believe as i have never had a problem with them and i have fitted over 150 in the last 5 years...😕

much prefer the vaillant much easier to fit but prefer the worcester wireless plug and play controls so simple

Vaillant all the way, we dropped worcesters 3/4 years ago after a spate
of manufacturers probs - they were good. Vaillant start 1st time and never really hear from customers again while our guarantee operates.

The people around here seem to like them so i doubt i will go down market and change boilers anytime soon.. IMHO

Strange reply gas man, what in your opinion are good boilers...🙄

Nail your colours to the mast, as they say!!!

Mind you. Cos I tend to do more commercial than domestic I'm very used to Worcester's big brother, the Buderus GB series.

Now there's a sexy set of boilers!

you might want to buy some gloves to wear. Vaillants & Bosch are reasonable boilers.

Lol " Sexy boilers" you need to get out more,,,, try the pub on the pier at " Newcastle" i did...😀

Gloves ! your aving a bath. 😛

nothing wrong with duotecs or potterton performas ,the problem imho is plastic does not work in a boiler and Worcester have caused me some grief over the years in the case of vailent for them to send out a flue thats is effectively one up from a pie dish is unacceptable and i know one of their service engineers as a friend he says poor company even worse boilers my opinions are based on experience

I know the Area Manager of Group Services very well and funny, he does not share that opinion!!!

Could be a "company guy" now though...

Got no beef with Potts but my customers never spec them nor would i, best agree to disagree on this one...

At the end of the day it is the customer that matters and if i only see them once a year to service the boiler, then they are appy and so am i..

I have a wee confession here chaps....... When I was slating Vaillant I was actually thinking of Ferolli!

mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa! 😱

OK no boiler is perfect - we all accept that

Price /reliabilty/install probs ........all count

So why not rate your 3 best boilers best - worst and why

Mine............... Best Vaillant .....works 1st time no comebacks
Worst W/bosch not confident they will fire up 1st time
Intermediate Potts..suits some budgets/always start

Perhaps the manufacturers will take note of our comments.. the moderator on this site could do this to all our advantage - and our ultimately our customers

Yours

So what is the boiler of choice, taking into consideration price, installation, build quality, spares availability and price, ease of use, maintanance and reliability.

Honestly i havent fitted alot of different brands and often wonder what i should be fitting. i was worcester loyal but taking the above into consideration i decided Baxi, whats your oinion?

Why is it that the boiler manufacturers at the top of their game give poor warranty, when in my opinion some inferior boilers are offering 5,7 and someone said today sime are doing 10 as standard. should we not be fitting them?

Are you still on "Coal Gas" over there Crop.........😛

Lol no.....

But I did condemn a gas installation in one of the colleges a little while ago. New(ish) lpg 1" running into old town gas 3"

Pressure dropped faster than Clinton's trousers!😱

Vaillant and W.B. offer 5 yr warranties to approved installers (with history)

You need to think why they are offering 7 yr warranties willy nilly...

They need to shift the boilers of the shelves !!! Backup is crap...

Sime are the biggest pile of poo since the "La Blanc" ( owned by Worcester Bosch) inho

your right there spudhater, just took a 4 year old sime format out, nothing but trouble. cheap boilers often equal expensive parts, sime and rarvenheat are good examples. i suppose a ten year warranty is nothing if the boiler is forever breaking down, then waiting for days for engineer. i heard about the loyalty warranty worcester does, but heard it was based on alot of installs a year.
