Hi
It all started when I re-connected a radiator that had been out of the system for some time.
When I bled the radiator all seemed ok.
Then the system stopped and all went cold. I have checked programmer, boiler, roomstat and tankstat and all function as they should.
Suspected an air lock so I drained the system.
It would appear that there is a blockage somewhere as the header tank has not emptied so I cannot re-fill the system.
I'm a bit stumped as how to proceed.
HELP!

John

I would connect a hose pipe to the lowest drain point with a hose clip and temporarly plug the open vent over the small F & E tank, the mains pressure cold water will hopefuly blow the blockage or airlock back into the tank.

These systems can block the magnatite where the F & E tee's into the system, see if a magnet stick to it, if it does then there's the blockage there.

You need to bleed the rads, pump and any other vents points in the airing cupboard.

Thanks Phil.

Sorry - finger trouble.
Thanks Phil.
Should I be turning the rads off at both ends before trying to back flush? Or doesn't it matter?

John
