Hi all I'm more of an installer then a breakdown engineer, just wanted to no,what on boilers can be linked out to check if my diognostics is correct,i called potterton tecs once and they advised me to do this on a thermistor rather then checking with a multimeter, any replies would be appreciated thanks.

go on some manufacturers courses, endless answers to your question

Switches are about the only things that can be linked out, water pressure switches mainly. Always give tech support a call first though :)

flow switchs, low water pressure switches, microswitches and high limit stats can all be looped a thermistor how ever categorically can not be looped watch my how it works vid and you will see why they dont work on continuity

It's telling me I cannot load the video for some reason. When you loop all of the above, do you do it at the board or in place? And, is looping just putting a bit of wire from one port to the other? Like a loop you need to take out when installing a room stat in combi boiler?

Normally loop at switch end as less. Likley to damage pcb. I use paper clips.
