How do you guys genrally go about draining your boilers when doing repairs on the pressure heating side?

IS it me or is it always a ball ache.

Via the boiler drain valve if it's a Worcester or baxi etc

If not via the prv and replace that

Normally by drain off on boiler if they have one,prv if not but disconnect pipe from PRV or cut the pipe so can get hose on it to save any black sh&@t goin over outside wall. I maybe talking rubbish but I find sometimes pressing the Schraeder valve on expansion vessel til flat then re charging with an open end gets the last bits of water out that seem to normally glug out halfway through changing a part when you think you’ve drained it

Boiler drain off
Via prv
Crack a nut and have the wet vac ready

The only time it's annoying is when it's a heat only with no isolation valves! Full drain downs are never fun
