Hi my boiler is making a loud banging noise, when i first switch it on it fires up fine then after about 10 seconds makes a loud banging noise then shuts down, then follows a gurgling sound, I change the pump about 2months ago and can hear it working in the airing cupboard when my wife turns the boiler on.

Help please

try warm water over the plastic pipe that gos out side...dose it have a flex pipe leading from the trap to the 21.5mm plastic on the boiler see if you can pull the pipe off the trap

blocked condensate +1 as said boiling water over the white external over flow pipe or it may be 32mm

(blocked condensate +1 as said boiling water over the white external over flow pipe or it may be 32mm)
is that the drain white pipe that goes outside that is all clear

there maybe trouble ahead if that is all clear and you are getting noises ,i presume there is enough water in the system

the pipe on the bottom of the boiler the flexy pipe that goes in to the trap sould water be coming from there??? because it is none

the black pipe on the bottom of the boiler that goes in to the trap no water is coming from there. should water flow???

Thanks

i doubt it is frozen that far up but you could switch the boiler of and run a hair dryer over the pipe

no if the boiler has backed up due to a frozen pipe it can do damage that is un repairable I am afraid to say

check the pipe what runs from the trap inside the boiler remove and check for blockage make sure you cover all electrics

hi just took it off and it is empty no water came out from the pipe from trap to boiler there was a little water in the trap. does this mean inside the boiler the water could be blocked?
