Boiler/heating problem...

Hi, would appreciate some advice... noticed about an hour ago the boiler (Baxi Solo) started making banging noises... first thought that there was air in the system so bled rads, manual air vent, then went to bleed pump... undid screw and nothing came out apart from weak air... no water... heating and water pipes were very hot from mid pos valve ... the pump was very hot too! boiler has since locked out... got to be the pump??? surely... thanks in advance...

It is easy to tell if the pump is turning. Stick a screwdriver in it.
Might be a choked feed.

it's not turning ... i have used a neon and there's power to it in the junction box.. there ay be problems with the cold fed though... just noticed its about 250 mm from the open vent and the wrong side of the vent... the system regularly gets air in it and needs to be bled regularly....

I'd change the pump to start with then check the F&E tank for pumping over?

I'd say pump but I'd check headed tank is full first if it's an open sys
