Hi, had water slowly dripping out of this top pipe which goes from boiler to hot water tank, (top one in the picture)does this union just need tightening or is it a bit more serious than that, just had the hot water tank heat up and this top pipe has stopped dripping probably due to it heating up, any ideas.? Thanks

Hi
It's an old safety valve. Please don't try to tighten it up, that may make it leak more!
TBH it needs replacing with a newer better one.

You would have to drain the system but should be a straight swap (the whole valve)
