I know its sensible to have the loft boarded well lit and a have a good access ladder, but is there anything actually written down about having a boiler in a loft?

I thought it was a a rule now that it should have good access and be well light/easily maintainable?

and a barrier around 3 sides of the hatch i heard once so you can't fall down it.

Is it in part j, cant see it, looking with my man eyes, wheres the wife when you need her

There's something about the boiler being a certain distance from the hatch? Think it's 1.5 meters off the top of my head

Boarding to appliance, permanent light source and loft ladder.

If you have to get a manufacturer out they claim their engineers will only go up if you have these
BUT they will admit lighting can be fed from an extension and you can fix a ladder in position.

i found this out after boarding up to a worcester, having my sparky friend put lighting in and putting a loft ladder in.

Page 28 of Part J (Access to Combustion Appliances for Maintenance) refers you to BS6798.
