Got a call to one of these orrible things.
Heating not working. Hot water fine. Boiler working fine surprising for an icos....

Anyway just wanted to confirm my hypothesis.
I plan to treat the inbuilt 3port as a external control and check for 230 on the white wire with heating demand on. If I get 230 then fault will be with the three port. If no 230 I would guess pcb fault.

Any boilermate experts on here????
I hate the things.

Forgot to say that its possible that hot water is working only because of the default position of the valve...

The 3 port switches the flow between the boiler / cyl and cyl/heating. Just a std mid position.
The hot water is run by a separate pump.

Yeah I know. But doesnt the demand come from the roomstat to the 3port via the boilermate pcb?

Could be the synchron motor cos the water would be working from the default valve position. Am I right?

Either the motor or the valve sticking.
The default (port B) is from boiler to cyl so the cyl will heat and they will get hot water.
Fkn hundreds of them sludge buckets up here on new builds.

So you reckon the fault lies with the three port and nothing to do with the pcb?
Seem to remember that someone said pcb faults are common on these things....

You'll know when you test it. Mostly 2's and 2000's fitted around here. Not so many 3's

The ones I work on have 2 pumps. One from the boiler to the store and one pumping it back out to the rads with mains fed hot water via a mixing valve.

Last one one I had with no heating was the inbuilt timer. Wiring centre is behind the panel on the boilermate. 240 in from stat up to the inbuilt clock and out to the c/h pump. If memory serves on the clock it's 240 in on 1, link between 1-3, 240 out with demand to the pump on 4.
