Is there anyone interested/available in the Winchester area in replacing a Glow-worm Cxi (Combi) for a retired colleague. I have been quoted £400+ to replace the PCB with a caveat that “there are other things wrong, that might not fix it”. Not sure how the “other things” were thought to be “wrong” as the boiler isn’t working and so couldn’t be tested - not a particularly convincing diagnosis. Anyway, as the boiler is 14 years old and this would be the third PCB fitted in 8 years, I have decided it is time to replace it. The property is a first floor purpose built flat; access is good, the boiler is in a large cupboard; parking easy.
