Hi all. I would really appreciate some good advice here instead of comments like - what have you let yourself in for etc.

I'm doing a powerflush tomorrow on a system with a BoilerMate2 Thermal heat store.

It is the one with the F&E tank sitting on top of the cylinder. The expansion pipe comes out of the cylinder with a 22mm compression fitting and the feed to the cylinder is also connected with compression.

My issue is: What's the best way to blank off the Feed and Expansion pipes?

Can i use a blanking nut/cylinder blanks??

In the photo below you can see where the 15 mm feed from the f&E tank goes into the Cylinder.

Another option, and in my opinion, probably the easiest, is to bypass the thermal store completely by connecting into the flow and return close to where they come out of the floor and just connecting on some pump valves to attach the powerflush onto.

Hope this makes sense guys.

If the expansion is compression can you not remove the fitting and blank it and just cut a valve into the feed.

Then connect flusher across the pump?

Boiler mate 2's are getting on a bit now, most of the ones still in round my way are getting a bit delicate to say the least.
I'd definately bypass it if possible to do the powerflush.
