I have just joined this forum. I have a specific need. How to cut in successfully into a cast iron soil stack to insert a new soil connection. It is an edwardian house. Alternatively a reasonable priced plumber in brighton to do it for me,

Welcome to the forum bonzodo, I would first check that the soil stack above where you want to cut the branch in, is well supported and secure, if it is, I would then check that you could get a PAM bolted collar behind the pipe, if you can, I would use an angle grinder to first cut the front out of the pipe, so that you can get the angle grinder in to cut the back of the pipe then once this is done to the correct dimension for the branch, slide the branch in and then clamp up the two collars, top and bottom of the branch
