Boosting water pressure

Went to a job to price combi swap,pressure poor ie can't run 2taps at once,done pressure test but flow rate of water is a concern, the 2 flats struggle. Heard of the salamander boost has anyone had any positive results of these?
cant fit cylinder due to location which is frUstrating but thinking of fitting electric shower to cover issue

Shopuld never have been fitted with a combi?

What are the results of the pressure and flow tests that you;ve carried out?

Is it a blocked or restricted incoming?

Yes there are mains pressure boosters available, accumulator also a possibility as an unvented cylinder wouldn't fix the issue, you'd have to go vented. So choices are: Mains pressure boost pump (max 12l/min) or accumulator.

And then there is the Salamander iboost.

Solution really depends upon the problem - you have 2 flats with a problem, not 1....

WHY is there a low flow rate is the key question.. Pump / accumulator may just be fixing the symptom not the problem

Give it someone else if you can you need to know when its time to walk away some TP will say he can fix it.

Very true but Jay says it is a combi swap so they are well used to its shortfalls unless they have just bought the place and yet to move in. Either price it as a straight swap with a disclaimer or walk away.

Your average joe won't pay the extra for a pump never mind an accumulator but you can guarantee someone will swap it.

Thanks for great reply lads,done checks over a period of a week pressure 2 bar but dips to 0.8/1 bar and flow around 13lpm and dips to 6lpm ish,quite difficult to get same results,but a property a few doors along has acumaltor but this property is split into 2 flats,I did say

the salamander is great, monson do one as well, both expensive, monson ones have higher flow rates. they wor by giving 1.5 bar consistently, when the pressure is above this they will stop (basically only work when needed!!)

The worry on this is the drop in flow rate. What are you going to pump if you dont have the water coming in? Incoming ains undersized or restricted. Fix that first then go from there.
