Bristan Shower Mixer - Please see attached photo's. Has anyone else had this issues the Hot feed seems to have a hard plastic seat attached inside the fitting , this is not in the cold fitting. The Cold will not seal when the rubber washer / Filter is fitted. See photo of the hard plastic seat which is in the hot fitting.

Thanks Lawrence

Never had a problem and yes it’s designed like that for the cool touch bit

What do you have on the wall eg mounting wise ?

All sorted. I spoke to bristan, who told me that there is a hard plastic washer fitted to the hot inlets only. Hence no issue with the mixer tap. I made a thin (8mm) 30mm spanner that would fully rotate between the fittings to tighten thibgs up. Worked a treat and no damage to the chrome. See attached.

Thanks Shaun, the fitting on the wall are all good and new Bristan parts with isolators. Are you saying that the Cold does not have a hard plastic insert but the Hot does?

Correct it’s part of there cool touch system eg bar mixer being coolish to the touch

You should have two rubber washer put them both in and tighten with a adj spanner you should be good
