morning all a quick question for you all.

ive been doing my gas portfolio for a while now and the engineer i was doing my work with went off to do different things a few months ago so i started with someone else who subs for british gas as well as his own stuff, the engineer who im currently working with has a anton fga that he has said i can have as british gas have given him a new one and not asked for this one to be returned.

this fga needs calibirating but says britsh gas on the body, would i still be able to get it calbirated or will they turn it down, the engineer's unsure and so am i.

any answers apreciated.

Cheers

andy.

Sorry only British gas can get the fga calIabrated got offered an anton that was the same and no company would touch it as it has to be sent by British gas

ok thanks gray, thought id find out before i went an bought it, looking at the testo's alot, they seem a great piece of kit.

I don't rate Testo at all, I've had a couple in the past and found them a bit unreliable, quite cheap and plastic looking too. As with all these things it's matter opinion but I would only consider Anton or Kane. I've got a Kane which I'm very pleased with.

As Bartdude, Kane is 1st choice. Anton a close second. Would not look at anything else if was using my own hard cash.

Testo is as good as any but the calibration fee is almost the price of a new one,
anton its the future

Ive got an Anton sprint but Ive used Kane 455 before. Great analysers imo.

to be honest ive used the kane 455 alot with a previous engineer and do find them preety good and easy to use, so may have a look at them, and to be fair there alot cheaper than the testo's.

Used an Anton for years but now using a TPI and its amazing. Still got my anton just as back up but the TPI is amazing, quick start up and quick purges and simple to use.

went from tpi to anton because of high cost of calibration and reliability issues with tpi very disappointed with them

Kane 455 for me. Had heard a couple of good comments about the TPI but I keep thinking back to GM's experience with the thing. Testo's are a load of poo. Never played with an Anton.

depends on calibration costs, and sensor warranty,if you can afford it mike get a anton

kane 250 plus separate electronic manometer, gas detector so when the kane dies I wont spend to long crying. plus when kane failed to get mine back quickly (less than 4 days) they refunded the calibration costs for me, great service, but you should hear me bitching and whiningand threatening blogs on forums etc. plus it only cost me £50 at a year old and that included a printer, overall a bargain. next time round a 455 beckons.

saw a demo of the anton not so long ago in the merchants and was set on getting it but most people i speak to tell me to get the kane 455, im guessing theres not much difference in quality between the 2 so its down to the calibration costs an turnover time
