Hi, have had 6 or more phone calls & Tex's, and emails this week from employment agency's offering work for BG, last one say's they it's very difficult finding anyone to take up the offers, but it's the same old system need to sit an induction, must have a P/Flush machine, must have a socket-and-see kit to test electric's, if not you can purchase from BG ! Any one taken up the offer ? with every one short of work would have thought they would have been inundated with applications, why do you think they are finding so hard to recruit contractors ??.

''with every one short of work would have thought they would have been inundated with applications, why do you think they are finding so hard to recruit contractors ??''

because thats what they assume?
pay the price and get what you need imo.

When I did some service/breakdown work for them I found them extremely patronising.
I wouldn't work for them again whatever the offer.
Nuff said!

Ps, the money was carp because they promised what they couldn't deliver.

Probably, but there I no guarantee of how many jobs you will get into.

£18 per landlords, out of that i'm guessing you have to pay all your own costs, no guarantee of where the jobs are or if youll get into them

I can see why they'd struggle to find people

had phonecall from agency offering me install work.

Me-"whos the client?"
Agent-"British Gas"
Me-"No thank you, don't want to work for them"

regular inspections on installs, they quiz you on gas knowledge which can take 1-2hrs from your day, they give you into trouble for safety breaches like no RCD on plug, metal showing in your steel toe caps.

I got the same offer a couple of years ago, although I was approached by a manager, I declined within 1 second, he asked why, " sorry not dropping my standards"

I used to work direct for them on installs. They expect so much from you for so little pay. Not lagging an airing cupboard on a boiler swap is 'a key safety defect'

Its all run for the benefit of the directors salaries and shareholders
