Hello all!

I am sort of new to the thread, well I'm really a ghost member ( I like to browse through the site and look at people's posts but not give any input).. any ways!

I recently got my NVQ Level 2 certificate in Plumbing & Heating, and I applied for the smart metering role and was lucky enough to secure an interview at there head office! I was just wondering if there was anybody on here who has either applied for the job, or is currently working for them as a smart meter fitter.
my questions are for you guys are:
is it a good career path?
& is the company a good company too work for?

I thought it would be a way of kick starting career towards gas.
btw i'm 19 years old. (sorry to ramble on)

cheers:cool3:

Its better than no job.
Large company and benefits commensurate with that.

If I was gonna do that for a company - id rather do it for british gas.

I think its a great start for you, it may get a bit boring after a few years but being such a big company you will likely be able to move to other areas. at your age I would snap up the opportunity, get some experience and then reassess my career after a couple of years.
