british gas wireless CH system

hi, im just an average joe who has been searching thee web for an answer to a problem, and came across your forum so im hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction
basically, I have a British gas wireless system (fitted about 4 years ago)with a wireless thermostat and reliever (WR1) and a man box with the settings for water and heating (UP2)
it all seems to work alright when just timing (heating on at 5:30, off at 7:00 ETC)
the problem is when I try and boost the heating,and it doesn't boost....
I can turn the thermostat up,run up stairs and see the green light come on the receiver... so that part is working fine....
im assuming that the WR1 box is not talking to the boiler when boosted, any ideas??
It has worked fine for the past 4 years...
(I don't realy want to talk to BG about it due to previous experiences

Just to clarify are you saying that the boost feature is not working on the UP2? From what you have said I assume you have a wireless room thermostat and a UP2 programmer. Is the boost not working for heating, hot water or both?

if i recall correctly its a rebadged drayton digistat and they have a known fault with the receiver not making the contact.

there is a pdf floating about that shows how to repair it by buying a part for 3 quid off ebay and soldering it in

Needs testing with a multimeter to see where the connection is being lost, programmer or room stat

Hi, thanks for the replys,
it is just the boost and advance function on the CH.
i can boost the water fine, i can advance the water fine. The heating works fine when it is timed to come on... Just cant boost/advance

Its on timer as it has been for 3 years
i suspect it is a problem with the programmer, is there a reset somewhere maybe??
