Hi guys

I applied for the apprentice gas installation engineer role with British gas and I've been invited to the final stage of the recruitment process. There will be a practical assessment, interview and role play. Any advise for the day will be highly appreciated especially on the practical assessment and role play.

Thanks

Raj

take a complete lingerie set (stockings basque etc) along for the role play, one of you has to be a housewife! :)

quite the opposite old chap! my work is in Richmond Esher Claygate and Cobham don't you know what what

if you dont know the answer to any question they will except............. "the system needs powerflushing"

Hi Raj

lots of the below is just banter on here I will
give you my take on British Gas - and truthfully
how you might approach you interview

I have a number of friends in Low Places at BG

1. You will need to assure them you will a company man
and do all they ask and if you are young this is ok
for a few years - you will get a van, great training
plenty of support -( if you make friends in Bg)
2. Be aware this company are totally sales orientated
and will want you to be a successfull salesman when
you are in the customers house
3. They like you to be accurate and produce a profit

4. Some fitters find this all too much and leave

5. On balance I would yes go for it bend over 4
a few years and then go on your own

but remember they want sales fitters 1st and ordinary fitters last

Thanks centralheatingking and I appreciate your advise. Good news is that they've offered me the apprenticeship and I've accepted. Do you know anything about the duke of Edinburgh award or the British gas award. Is it compulsory that I do the award?

Thanks

Great news that fella. Always nice to hear a success story and to be honest as much as we slate them there can't be many better ways into the industry.

good advice from chk may be worth you talking to villa tom or doodlebug both work for BG and both are members on here
