I have recently installed a new shower, I was standing on a stool and doing the final touches with silicone and the stool slipped and went straight through the shower trap base.. The tray has been mortered in and is solid all glass panels fixed so ripping it out sounds like an absolute disaster to me, is there anything I can do to fix/seal this hole from the top? Like some sort of insert? Please let me know any help would be appreciated.

Anything other than replacing it is going to be a bodge and I don't think anyone on here would recommend that. Sorry to say you may have to take it up. Is there an option of going up through the ceiling below and just patching that?

unfortunatly it's on the ground floor with concrete floors so no room to get underneath the trap..
I understand that it sounds like a bodge job, I just fail to believe there is no other option other than to undo all the good work put in.

thanks for the reply

Think about it logically how would it seal? You have screwed the trap on either side of the tray. Do it properly or else you will have water leak issues in the future

Unfortunately, whether or not you believe in any God - of all / any form, or are a Pagan, Atheist or Vegan - or part there of...

You will have to remove the shower base and replace the outlet.
If the outlet is moulded into the shower base you will have to replace the shower base.

Being that the shower base is on a concrete slab, you will have to also jackhammer up the slab, replace floor tiles and wall tiles and re-install the shower screen.

I hope for your sake you have insurance to cover this.
Otherwise a very expensive learning experience
