Hello All

Can any one please advice on a decent Bronz pump. I need to fit one on a third floor flat, where the set up is bit strange, the hot water tank supply is through 2 unvented tanks fitted parallel in basement. The distance is approximately 30 meters or so from the tank to the flat. The hot water takes ages to come through. There is one fitted currently but not helping.

is it fitted on a secondary return or straight through? i would think straight through if it is taking ages to come through.

I did call up Grundfos to get some guidance on this, they have asked me to get the flow rate which I can get it, but they did also ask to find out the resistance. How do you I find out the resistance of water.

could you not move one uhwc in the loft ?

No as there is no loft. its not a house. there are 5 flats, 1st three fllats have there own hot water provision. Flat 4 and 5 share the hot water from the cylinders. Flat 4 just has one bathroom, but flat 5 has 3 bathrooms and shower within.

Just to clarify, they wanted to know the flow rate you require on the return to give the desired temp through the circuit (heat loss across circuit and desired temp drop to calculate) and the resistance is that of the loop (pressure drop across pipework and fittings).

If you drop those figures into the grundfoss website it should tell you what you need.

Its old an installation wouldn't know how many bends or loops are there
