Symptom: loud "burp" from the Albion expansion tank when flushing the loo. The tank was replaced 6 weeks ago (the plumber diagnosed a noisy expansion tank diaphragm) and also installed another pressure gauge. The fix worked for a few weeks but the noise is now beginning to return. The pressure gauge is showing a pressure of about 3 bar. All advice and opinion gladly welcomed.

so you have your loo connected to your feed and expansion tank, sounds like polish plumbing to me old son. or are we talking about a expn vessl on your hw cyl burping when you flush the loo, does your loo fill with hot water? your system is 3 bar pressure, a tadge to high and that to could cause a burpy expn vessl, if your prv is blowing off, overall get someone in coz some of the things you say dont really ring true, or if it is correct sound right.

Thanks, Lame Plumber. Plumber alerted but I thought I'd try to understand the setup a bit better. Loo not filling with HW. The problem "cured" by installation of a new expansion tank occurred not only when flushing loo but also when turning on either of the taps on the bath. In the latter case, the noise carried on until tap turned off. Can send installation picture if it would help.

George.

Could be unbalanced cold, and a mixer tap. Over pressuring the system by back filling it.
