i am at my girlfriends pearents house and her c/h pasked up its oil feed her dad says it has 3rd of the tank left and wont restart. i know i cant touch boilers but maybe i could give them some sound advice. could air do this to a c/h unit or could it be something else overlooked.
many thanks perry

Well if you are in a serious relationship with your girlfriend you could check the oil filter not blocked and the photo cell is clean
But if it's just a Christmas fling, I would not worry, just put a jumper on and enjoy the free meal and booze :)

happy new year to all aswell:)

Could be all sorts of things and in this weather I wouldn't rule out the fuel freezing either if the pipe is exposed to the wind and gets no sun during the day. Could be the pump, the programmer, the solenoid, the scraficial link, etc, etc.

If you have the manual, there's usually a trouble shooting section in it and if you get some of the firing sequence you can narrow it down to that part. If you get slap bang zilch, then you need to check there is a working electricity supply. The list goes on.

Sorry to sound so vague but it's a bit like saying "My car won't go"!!

that is true i just wanted to get some ideal to give to them i did say im not trained to deal with centeral heating but i said i would ask to get some advice to give to them.
like i said many thanks it will be helpful none the less. :D
