It's in a bathroom equipped for somebody with a disability - I've seen 2 this week funny enough, never before that.

do you know what elec shower it is?

Didn't no, didn't think they'd be related. I thought the pump was like a sanivite or sanishower or something - I can get the lady to send me a pic though

some how something has to tell the pump to run,

wont be on gravity as pump is higher than level access tray

so that leaves either manual or automatic

manual being some sort of switch the cus turns on / pulls

auto being either a flow switch on the cold to the shower or the shower telling it to run

also there should be a controller somewhere as i only see one wire to the unit

I thought it was auto like the sani units with a switch inside the body..

Hmmmmm... might have to pop back. Is contour the model or the manufacturer?

manudacture

and no unless the unit is lower than the shower tray/waste

Pumps gone I think.. sounds awful and doesn't pump very well any more
It will more than likely have a flow switch in the cold feed somewhere, only newer model showers have control built in, and they are very noisy and pump only small amounts at a time.

But if the flow switch has gone, surely the pump wouldn't activate? Because it is but it just sounds like pooh. Ah ok, so it's normal for the tray to have a build up of water since it can't keep up with the volume of water ?

Flow switch could be built in to the shower waste trap.

never seen one like that, also wouldn't be very good long term hair and what not ???

Just a pressure switch Shaun, hair etc doesn`t effect it. Been looking online in the meantime and suggest take a look for something unusual strapped to or coupled into the cold feed to the shower Jay, most likely will have 2 thin wires coming off it.

If the shower discharges 19L/min and the pump only copes with 12L/min then yes, or consider the discharge pipe is no longer as clear as it once was so the pump/motor is now working overtime to clear the same volume of water. Or is the trap clogged up?
