Good morning,

I need a little help - can anyone identify what this radiator valve fitting is.

I need 3 replacement valves.

The pipe is 15mm but the nut that screws onto the bottom of the 90degree valve IS NOT a standard 15mm compression nut, and the fitting has a shoulder and o ring type of affair, the thread on the valve will not take a 15mm nut.

The photo is of one i have replaced with standard 15mm on all the radiators upstairs, but downstairs the pipework is embedded into the walls so will be much easier to replace the valves, if i can get them.

The Valve controller fitting on the top needs to be the screw on type not the fitting currently on the valve. IMG_2629.jpg

I hunk comap make those valves
If your replacing the valve, why not just replace the Rucker ring and washer, with a nut and olive off the new valve?

Thanks for the reply

theres not enough pipe free to replace the olive unfortunately, immediately below the olive and nut is a 90 degree solder elbow so the nut only just comes free. I was trying to avoid getting a blowtorch out if i could just swap the valve, but its looking more and more like i'll have to blowtorch the 90 degree solder joint off !

Looked at comap website... can't find anything with that rucker ring. Oh well was worth asking the question just in case... i think a blowtorch is the only way now.

1 quick q - whats the chance of carefully hacksawing off the rucker ring? I'm not sure how its held on there - is it actually part of the pipe or some kind of compression fitting?

Thank you

Hacksaw nearly through the ring, then put a fine flat screwdriver in the cut and turn. This should snap the ring without damaging the pipe.
You can then instsll the complete new valve.

Practiced on the spare one i had - worked like a charm. Ill obviously clean the pipe up with wire wool afterwards before the new 15mm nuts and compression ring go on !

Perfect !

Thanks very much.
